Yesterday was Labour Day. I had a showing at 12noon but needed to find a good walk that would be reasonably short but worthy of the great weather. Dog Mountain on Seymour seemed like a good fit.
We started out around 9am, along the cool forest trails. We met a couple of people in the parking lot heading off on other trails but once we set off we didn’t see anybody else until we were on our return walk.
Only about 20 minutes in we reach First Lake.
Perfect for a morning swim.
Meadows near First Lake.
Another 20-30 minutes walking and we’re at the Dog Mountain lookout.
It’s a beautiful sunny morning and we have the whole mountaintop to ourselves. Views here to the South.
The Second Narrows Bridge.
The downtown core with Stanley Park to the right.
Sweeping city views right across Metro Vancouver.
Mountain views to the North
Mojo enjoys the views.
Final city views, Stanley Park and North Vancouver in the foreground. On the horizon, the silhouette of the mountains on Vancouver Island.
We make our way back down the trail, through the meadows to the parking lot.
The forecast is good all week so we will be out most days hopefully and keep the blogposts coming.
